Sharonville Convention Center was thrilled to once again host the 22nd annual 20th Century Cincinnati the weekend of February 20th and 21st, 2016. The exhibit featured a wide array of items from furniture and lighting, to jewelry, dinnerware, fine and print art. The essence of 20th Century Cincinnati was Art Deco. It featured collections from over 70 modern design focused dealers, designers and collectors who originate from all over the country.

The 20th Century Cincinnati curator, Bruce Metzger, has been hosting 20th Century Cincinnati for over twenty years. This venture in his career began simply as a side project, but as he discovered his passion for this line of work he decided to purse it as a full time career. Metzger recognized that a brick-and-mortar store wouldn’t get enough attention, and since eBay or Amazon wasn’t around yet, his best option for selling high quality items was to organize a show. The first 20th Century Cincinnati show was hosted in an old National Guard armory on Reading Road in the early 90’s. The show moved to the Cincinnati Museum Center for a few years before it began showing at the Sharonville Convention Center. The Sharonville Convention Center is incredibly proud to have hosted 20th Century Cincinnati more than a dozen times.

This year’s show also featured special guest Wendy Schultz Wubbles, a traditional silhouette artist from Williamsburg, Virginia. Wubbles has gained a fantastic reputation as a silhouette artist since her brother introduced her to modern design. Her work includes silhouettes of iconic furniture, clocks, and groups of people in retro style clothing.

20th Century Cincinnati was open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The entire team at Sharonville Convention Center was very pleased to once again welcome Bruce Metzger and his iconic and charming show to the Convention Center. We are looking forward to many more years of hosting 20th Century Cincinnati.
