My Furry Valentine’s 9th Mega Pet Adoption Event | February 9 & 10, 2019!

What would our world look like if every animal had a home, no shelters euthanized animals and we all took on the responsibility to take care of our furry friends? We think that it would be beautiful. My Furry Valentine is “committed to the vision of a world where there is no more shelter euthanasia. A world where there is no longer a need for a mega pet adoption event. A time when we become a “No Kill” nation.” They are committed to educating our community about adoption and being a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

If that doesn’t make you want to go cuddle a puppy, here are some facts that My Furry Valentine wants you to know:

  • An average of 9,000 cats and dogs per day are euthanized in shelters across the United States, which makes euthanasia the leading cause of untimely death for healthy dogs and cats in our country.
  • Each year 7.3 million animals enter shelters nationwide, hoping to catch the eye of one of the 12 million families who welcome a new pet into their home each year. But, as many Americans still get their pets from places other than rescues and shelters, an estimated 3-4 million animals die unnecessarily.
  • According to the United States Humane Society, if just 1 out of every 5 people getting a new cat or dog were to adopt from a shelter or rescue, not one single healthy cat or dog would have to lose their lives. You can be that one in five!

My Furry Valentine is a fun, family-friendly event. We have kid’s activities such as face painting, coloring, animal puppets crafts, pet toys and more! We have raffle drawings every hour throughout the weekend with so many wonderful items donated by area businesses. There’s even a good old-fashioned split-the-pot. Even if you aren’t looking to add to your family, come support the event, the mission and your love of animals,” Lisa Jones, Event Manager for My Furry Valentine.

My Furry Valentine is proud to be one of the largest animal adoption events in the entire country and has connected generous people with over 5,000 animals through adoption since 2012. This is your chance to be a pet’s hero.

Please join us on Saturday, February 9th at 10am – 6pm and Sunday, February 10th from 12pm – 6pm with general admission tickets just $5 (5 and up). In the meantime, head on over to their website to see the adorable animals up for adoption!
