Furever Homes Through My Furry Valentine

Valentine’s Day weekend may have started out as a very cold blustery Saturday, but inside the Sharonville Convention Center, it was warm with hundreds of animals and people looking for a furry friend to take home at My Furry Valentine! It was a highly successful weekend with over 650 animals adopted – even those with medical conditions and special needs. At least 3 shelters adopted out all their animals on the first day!

8,000 people attended and many braved the cold by lining up outside the Convention Center on Saturday morning, just waiting to be the first to enter with their early bird tickets. As people wandered about meeting all the animals, instant connections were made in many instances. This is a touching story caught by one local news station who followed a family looking for a dog, but it just so happened that the dog chose them! Grab some tissues and watch the video here.

The Sharonville Convention Center is a great facility and the faculty and staff are so wonderful to work with. I can’t wait to see the expansion of the exhibit hall space! I would especially like to thank Sandy Kalemba, Event Services at SCC, who is always there to help with anything, even coffee on those long days. Also Frank Arena, General Manager of the Hyatt Place Sharonville for giving me a great rate and managing an exceptional hotel” Lisa Jones, Event Manager for My Furry Valentine.

My Furry Valentine’s mission is to “significantly increase save rates and decrease the euthanasia of healthy animals in the Tri-State by helping to create the public mindset to think adoption first when looking for a new pet.” The organization is constantly educating the community about adoption and being a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves and we are truly thankful for them!
