Sharonville’s Covid-19 Small Business Relief Program a Success

The City of Sharonville is excited to announce over $500,000 of total awards were dispersed for the City of Sharonville’s Covid-19 Small Business Relief program. Grant awards were worth $2,500 up to $10,000 each and provided relief for 52 small businesses in Sharonville during the last year.

When the COVID-19 crisis emerged last year, the city created a small business relief grant with Federal Cares Act dollars, with a contribution of more than $147,000 for businesses with 25 employees or less during 2020. These grant dollars provided support for 15 small businesses in Sharonville including restaurants, hotels, and fitness centers.

At the start of 2021, the city was able to extend the grant with a contribution of an additional $350,000 for businesses with up to 50 employees including sole proprietors. This grant has provided much needed relief to an additional 37 businesses including Sharonville Carwash, The Root Beer Stand, DJ Barber, Hyatt Place Hotel and many others. The extra support assisted these businesses in many ways, from lost revenues, as well as, the additional expenses caused by the COVID-19 protocols, such as signage and sanitation stations.

Bimal Patel, Owner of The Hyatt Place Hotel commented, “The grant from the City of Sharonville added much needed liquidity into our business, which has been decimated by the pandemic. While we still have a long way to go, it was a great feeling to have the city chip in and help small businesses like ours during this terribly tough time.”

We have taken a crisis and turned it into an opportunity to get creative in ways that benefit the city.
