The 17th Annual Fur Ball is SPCA Cincinnati’s largest fundraiser and community engagement event of the year and was held on Saturday, April 27th. This year’s theme was “Paws on Broadway” and featured the sights and sounds of a real New York Broadway. Students from CCM Preparatory performed Boardway tunes during the event and even skipped prom to be there. Local 12’s Adam Clements was the emcee for the event and even sang a great parody about adoption!
“The gala is an opportunity for all volunteers, supporters, donors, sponsors and media partners to celebrate achievements in animal welfare accomplished throughout the year,” states Nyketa Gaffney, SPCA Cincinnati’s Public Information Officer.
It was an amazing event for animal lovers to come together and raise $350K to support SPCA Cincinnati who “strive to give the animals in their care the best humane treatment.” SPCA Cincinnati takes in about 12,000 animals each year while only slightly over half of those animals actually get adopted. The faster they can get animals ready to be adopted, the more animals they can take in.
Thank you to all who helped make this event a huge success, including some of the following sponsors: IAMS, Local12, Mason Company, the Sharonville Convention Center, Enerfab, H.J. Benken Florist, Nothing Bunt Cakes, O’Rourke Construction, Cincinnati Reds, Tito’s Vodka and Peter J. Kambelos, M.D., F.A.C.P.
